菱餅 (Hishi Mochi)
Hishi Mochi is a symbolic Japanese sweet associated with Hinamatsuri, or “Girl’s Day Festival”. It is rhomboid in shape and is typically formed of three layers from top to bottom comprising of red/pink, white, and green mochi. The shape is believed to have originated in the Edo Period and is a symbol of fertility.
